Who am I?
I’m Angelika Wolman, a licensed psychologist dedicated to helping individuals thrive through life’s challenges and transitions. Whether you're facing stress, cultural adjustments, or life changes, I provide personalized psychological counselling and coaching to support your journey toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
With a warm, empathetic, and solution-focused approach, I aim to empower you to overcome obstacles and build resilience. Together, we’ll work on your emotional well-being, whether you're seeking to discover your true self or finding a path through difficult situations.
My journey has been shaped by diverse and enriching experiences that have deepened my understanding of the human mind and its complexities.
I had the privilege of working with a firefighter’s department, where I gained valuable insights into resilience, crisis management, and the mental health challenges faced by first responders. This experience taught me the importance of creating tailored strategies to support individuals working under high-pressure conditions.
I have also worked closely with individuals with special needs, which has reinforced my commitment to fostering inclusivity and understanding in psychological care. Supporting people through their unique challenges has been an immensely rewarding part of my practice.
As a German psychologist with a Bachelor's and Master's in Psychology from France and a PhD from Canada, I bring a global perspective to my practice. Whether you're seeking professional guidance or personal growth, my international experience equips me to help you navigate challenges with confidence and clarity.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in humanism, emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the belief in every individual’s capacity for growth. I integrate Brief Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify and build on their strengths, enabling practical and swift progress toward their goals. Emotion-based therapy guides us in exploring and processing emotions to foster deeper self-understanding and connection. Additionally, I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, empowering them to create meaningful and lasting change. Together, these approaches create a compassionate and effective pathway for personal growth and healing.
I offer consultations in English, French, and German or via an interpreter in your native language. Let’s work together to build the life you deserve.
On the scientific front, my research focuses on the interplay between cognitive or emotional phenomena and their connection to neuronal fluctuations. During my PhD, under the guidance of the esteemed scientist, philosopher, and psychiatrist Dr. Georg Northoff, I explored the profound effects of breathing, music, and task dynamics on the brain in the context of various psychiatric disorders. This work not only expanded my expertise but also underscored the importance of integrating neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy to better understand and address mental health conditions.
My passion lies in bridging research and practice, ensuring that evidence-based approaches are accessible and effective for all those I work with.
